Volney Solar Project.
Polar Racking is proud to have supplied this 14MW DC site in upper New York State. Due to pre-assembly efficiencies for our SOL-X Single Axis Tracker, 60% was pre-assembled onsite.
Also, with the SOL-X Single Axis Tracker, you get up to 14 inches of tolerance, plus the modular design enables easier assembly of tables.

Objectives
The Volney Solar Farm sits on 61 acres about 30 minutes northwest of Syracuse, NY. Located side by side, these community solar farm, Volney I and Volney II have a combined capacity of 14MW DC, contributing to cleaner energy solutions for the region

03. HOW WE DID IT
Solution
This project showcases innovative engineering with Polar Racking Inc.’s Sol-X Single Axis Tracker system, paired with ground screws for a robust foundation.
These measures were specifically designed to address glacial till conditions observed during pull testing, ensuring long-term reliability and efficiency.
04. RESULTS
The Outcome
The full development consists of two co-located community solar projects participating in NY Value of Distributed Energy Resources (VDER) program.
These projects will enable local residents to benefit from clean energy by subscribing to the solar farm, and receiving bill credits to offset their National Grid electric charges. The overall site is expected to offset 13,997 tons of C02 annually.
