Polar Racking was founded in 2009 in response to Ontario’s Green Energy Act, with the goal of developing solar mounting systems suited to Canada's demanding climate.

Our focus from the beginning was to provide reliable, low-maintenance racking at a competitive installed cost per kilowatt-hour.

What distinguishes Polar Racking is our grounding in site realities. Our in-house geotechnical and structural teams bring a depth of understanding that allows us to tailor systems to specific soils, slopes, wind zones, and installation constraints.

That capability is most clearly expressed in our SOL-X single-axis tracker—a system developed for flexibility and field performance.

As the solar market in the U.S. has accelerated, Polar Racking has invested in domestic manufacturing capacity to support demand and align with federal and state-level incentives.

Today, we operate with more than 5 GW of production capacity, and are actively expanding toward 10 GW annually, with a strong emphasis on U.S. domestic content in our racking systems.

This strategy reduces lead times, supports local economies, and allows our partners to qualify for IRA domestic content bonuses—all while reducing transportation emissions and strengthening supply chain resilience.

In parallel, we’ve developed a dedicated agrivoltaics product line—designed to support dual land use for farming and solar energy production. With these systems, we aim to address growing concerns about land availability, while helping developers and landowners unlock new revenue streams.

Our agrivoltaic solutions—available in fixed and tracker formats—are already in deployment for 2025, with applications in croplands, grazing, and pollinator habitats.

Many of our team members have been with Polar Racking for over a decade. That continuity has shaped our culture—technical, accountable, and motivated to improve. As we’ve grown, so have our people—taking on leadership roles in engineering, execution, and customer success.

Today, our systems are deployed across more than 10 countries and 20 U.S. states, with nearly 500 MW installed in New York State alone.
