Canada’s commitment to renewable energy has led to significant growth in the solar sector. In 2023, the country’s wind, solar, and energy-storage sectors expanded by 11.2%, bringing the total installed capacity to 21.9 GW – with 6.4 GW of total installed solar capacity. This upward trend is projected to continue, with the solar energy market anticipated to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.06% from 2025 to 2029. (Source: National Resources Canada)
The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is rapidly advancing in solar energy adoption. In 2022, the region added 6.9 GW of utility-scale solar and wind capacity, a 57% increase – for an installed total of 32 GW of solar. Projections indicate that MENA will add 62 GW of renewable energy capacity over the next five years, with solar accounting for over 85% of this expansion. That’s a total of 180 GW of solar by 2030!
