New 248 kW solar carport brings the benefits of solar to local community organization
Massachusetts, April 28, 2022: Polar Racking has announced that, alongside Ecogy Energy, solar developer, financier, and owner-operator of distributed generation resources, they have successfully completed a 248 kW solar carport project in Cotuit, Massachusetts. The Gateway Christian Center has installed a solar carport system over their parking lot that is expected to provide renewable energy to over 20 community members.
Polar Racking finalized the design for the Gateway carport project and supplied the racking and foundations. A foundation design was selected that would be compatible with the parking lot design, taking into consideration the lot’s traffic flow directions as well as their emergency fire routes. The canopies will provide a cover for parked cars, as well as nighttime illumination for increased security and safety. Snow guards have also been incorporated into the design to accommodate melting snow loads.

Demand for clean energy is accelerating and local communities are looking to renewable sources, such as solar, to meet that demand. The 248 kW carport at the Gateway Christian Center is setting an example for other businesses and organizations to integrate renewable energy technologies into their properties.
