Polar Racking is proud to announce its selection by Potentia Solar to supply PV mounting solutions for an additional 77 rooftops this year for the Toronto District School Board (“TDSB”).

All revenues from these installations will be directed to rooftop repairs and replacements across the school board. Polar Racking will install 15MW of PR2 Ballasted Flat Roof Systems across the TDSB.

Polar Racking has completed installations of PV mounting systems for a variety of school boards around the Province of Ontario including York, Waterloo and Simcoe regions.

The PR2 system’s superior point loading and load distribution (<4psf) has allowed the TDSB to install rooftop solar arrays despite weight or roof restrictions.

The three 100% Aluminum components are pre-assembled and allow for 30% faster installation times versus competing mounting solutions. Integrated bonding and wire management features ensure the safety of educators and students who will tour their roof top system as a part of their curriculum.

Polar Racking also designed safety side shields to fully enclose the photovoltaic system for additional security and safety. The PR2’s high loading capacity for both wind and snow loads allows the system to withstand the harshest winters over its 20 year operating period.
